8:30 am              Welcome/Opening Remarks – Andy Warren, Executive Vice President, AGC of Iowa

8:40 -9:45 am    Insights into Iowa’s Economy – Liesl Eathington (B.S., MBA) is a research scientist in the Dept. of Economics at Iowa State University and the coordinator of the Iowa Community Indicator Program. She will share her research and insights on Iowa’s economy.

9:45 – 10 am     Break

10 -11:30 am     Workforce – H-2B Visa Program – Aaron Bernard, the founding attorney of The Bernard Firm in Ames, will present on the H-2B (non-agricultural) temporary labor visa program.  Mr. Bernard has over 21 years of experience in immigration law.  He currently assists several AGC members with finding seasonal workers.

12:00 – 12:45     Lunch & Networking

12:50 – 2:00 pm Artificial Intelligence (AI) Learning Session – Mica Paul, Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) Event Manager and Drew Forster, the Construction Strategic Advisor for CIRAS, will lead a learning exercise and present on AI in construction.

2:00 – 2:15 pm    Break

2:15 - 4:00 pm    Round Table Discussion – Topic – Succession Planning for your business including, buy/sell agreements, key employee retention, retirement, and estate planning.  (Bening Financial/Principal)
